Hand-cranked stories, a show for children aged 2 to 10, by Civi and Maldimarem.
Fairy tales and nursery rhymes will come to life in Civi's hand-cranked theater, in his voice and in the music of his barrel organ, scattering so many "seeds of dreams and poetry" that children and parents can collect in the air of the small square of São Paulo.
The show
Elaborating the technique of the kamishibai Japanese theater, the show proposes various stories and nursery rhymes with images that run inside a theater and are animated by the story, the gestures and sounds of the narrator. In fact Civi will try to propose "seeds of dreams and poetry" by making small and large people smile with the help of the music of his diatonic accordion. Some of the stories are taken from the basin of popular stories while others are completely self-produced, as are the accompanying music.
The Artist
Civi, at the registry office Caterina Civai, starts to play the accordion because of musician friends not even twenty years old. He graduated as a multicultural trainer in Florence, but when he arrived in Sardinia he discovered that she was a foreigner and started building wooden toys. After two children, a job in a C.A.S. and other vicissitudes it has an urgency to tell certain things and invent rollers by elaborating the kamishibai technique. This is how the Crank Stories are born.
The show is wanted and organized by the Municipal Tourist Office and the Municipal Library, with the collaboration of the Ludoteca "Puffolandia" and the financing of the Municipality of Luogosanto and of the Department of Tourism of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. Participation is free. For further information: [email protected], Facebook: @LuogosantoTouristOffice, +39.079.60.18.959
