The tower is located in the eponymous village of Vignola Mare. The tower, which stands on a granite cliff, 25 metres above sea level, is 12 metres high and cone-shaped and is a part of the coastal towers that were built by the Spanish in 1600 to protect the coast from Saracen raids. From this point you can enjoy a panorama of a range of crystal clear lakes of the coastal cliffs of Aglientu overlooking the Straits of Bonifacio.
