Church of San Biagio

The church is about 6 km from Aglientu along the way to Tempio, from where you can see from above, situated in the middle of a wide green lawn. It was built in 1967 on the ruins of an old rural church that was totally destroyed. It houses an interesting statue of the Armenian martyr S.Biagio. Carved from a single block from a pear tree between the 15th and 16th century this statue is a work of great artistic and historic value and has been restored to its original state during a recent renovation (1987).
